Do high-tech wrinkle creams ("cosmeceuticals") work? We turned to S. Manjula Jegasothy, MD, medical director of the Miami Skin Institute, for an update. Alpha hydroxy acids and retinoids erase fine lines and smooth skin, and should be the cornerstone of any regimen, she says.

Some new age-erasers are getting a lot of attention. One, TGF beta, has been shown to stimulate collagen growth, reducing the appearance of fine lines. It's a key ingredient in products like TNS Recovery Complex and Neocutis; both sold in doctors' offices.

Antioxidants are also promising. Elizabeth Arden is introducing Prevage next month for $150. (A stronger version has been sold in doctors' offices since January.) It reverses skin damage and repairs DNA. Yes, these products may seem pricey, but they generally cost much less than injections or surgery!
