Lance: According to your definition of corporate culture, it refers to a combination of the internal belief system, values and methods of an organization. However, I wonder whether there is any corporate culture shock that takes place.

Bob: Good question. Generally speaking, when companies merge, blending the different cultures can be a difficult task. In a successful company, employees often feel that their existing approaches work well and have produced good results, so any change is not welcome.

Lance: I see. Managing change is a process, not an event. Furthermore, it is an ongoing fact of modern corporate life, even without a merger.

Bob: Good idea. When employees learn to adapt to change, they are acquiring skills that will make them more valuable to the organization in the future.
