错误：
he stepped out on the falling tree
正确：
he stepped out on the fallen tree

错误：He tried to grap them
正确：He tried to grab them

错误：found a long stick to walk up and down the river bank
正确：found a long stick and walked up and down the river bank

错误：He put through the ice for hours
正确：He poked through the ice for hours

错误：With very late, the Judge was still in his office
正确：It was very late, but the judge was still in his office

错误：how he had ignored Seth's advice and what he happened
正确：how he had ignored Seth's advice and what had happened

错误：It’s bad luck for you and me. But you have to learn like this.
正确：It is bad luck for you and me that you had to learn like this
