  Up to the end of Chapter 3, Sophy Dorring has officially become my least favourite female protagonist of Amanda Quick's. She's ignorant and arrogant at the same time. She mentioned "the agreement" at a frequency more than enough to drive me insane. I completely sympathise with her husband whom she kept calling 'arrogant', while the truth is, she is the arrogant and stubborn one really.

  Chapter 4 is much easier to read with a lot of funny conversations upon Sophy's confession of her tricks.
  
  I really love Julian the charming Earl!! How can anyone not?
  
  I hope the forthcoming chapters will more than compensate for the trauma inflicted by chapter 3.

  Chapter 5 --- The scene moved from the countryside to London. Conversations involving gentlemen equally interesting as Julian plus gossips in "the Society"salvaged the otherwise monotonous dialogues like a breath of fresh air. In particular I loved the depiction of Julian's feelings before and after he found that his wife crushed his gate. Very interesting and satisfying!
  
  A wider stage is set for the following scenes, which would inevitably involve more characters and open up endless possibilities. The story has just begun to unfold. How exciting!

  Chapter 6 ---- Sophy was introduced to Julian's vivacious aunt, Lady Frances Sinclair, a bluestocking. She, her inseparable companion Harriet, together with a bunch of other ladies hold their own little intellectural tea parties every Wednesday afternoon, to which Sophy was invited. And she was lucky enough to be exploring the hottest gossip in London lately as the discussion topic for her first session. Amanda Quick kept her readers wondering in curiosity and uneasiness whether poor Sophy was going to find out about her husband's ancient affair with the retiring queen of London's  courtesan. ...
  
  And then came the ball, Sophy's first social event since her total failure 5 years ago. She was competent of keeping the conversations flowing merrily and was yet completely unaware of the charmshe radiated or the flirtation she received.  Ha, Julian was jealous. But somehow he and Sophy managed to misunderstand each other consistently. The situation reminds one of "The Painted Veil" except less elegant.

  Chapter 7 --- Finally, the marriage was consummated. It makes one wonder what took them so long. The answer is probably that both parties refused to come out of misunderstanding and denial. Sophy wouldn't lower her guard or stop overstretching her notion of "women's rights", while Julian wouldn't admit to Sophy that he simply found her attractive and loveable above all else, such as his sense of posessiveness and husbandly duties.
  
  I'm afraid Sophy's precious text on women's rights failed to include one important aspect: women's rights to enjoy sex. It may be a good idea to draw up an agreement with your semi-stranger husband to make sure that he doesn't force himself onto you. But why should you resist following your ancient instint and allow yourself to be seduced by your husband who you know as a decent gentleman? What's wrong with that? It seems to suggest that while men take great pleasure in sex, women only suffer and lose out, which is not true.
  
  I in all accord with Julian find this agreement completely stupid and annoying. Thank god the marriage was consummated!
  
  And the damned Sophy had to ruin the moment after lovemaking with her damned women rights talk again..... I've been moaning for the past 7 chapters so pray give me a break.

  Sophy's women right education has finally led her to do something truly amazing. She called a woman out, the courtesan who got love letters from Sophy's husband very long ago and is now back with blackmails. She asked herself "what would a man do if the situation was reversed?" and there she is, arriving at an intriguing solution.
  
  It became obvious to the readers that Julian and Sophy were very much in love, except that neither of them had realised it. Now, right before risking her life over Julian's honor, fearing that she might never see him again, Sophy eventually admitted to herself and to Julian:
  
  "I love you, Julian. I love you."
  
  What a relief!

  Exactly what I expected from Charlotte Featherstone!  Both women were extraordinary in their own ways and no one would like to see either get hurt. So the duel turned out well.
  
  Now I wonder what Julian is going to do with Sophy. Will he feel extremely flattered and deeply touched that his wife would go to any lengths to protect him? Or would he be insensitive or misled enough to interpret the whole thing otherwise?

  Disillusioned with her marriage, Sophy re-prioritised the quest for her sister's heartless seducer. Julian also commenced his part of the research on sight of the black metal ring that Sophy got from her sister as a keepsake.
  
  From now on I will not give away further cues. But readers can easily make their own intelligent guesses. After all, such is the shortcoming of detective stories --- the offender has to be someone who's made appearances before. In some cases, the author doesn't even bother to spare much ink on any other suspects to muddle the readers' heads a litle.

  注释的很详细，中英文都有，支持一个，有一个小建议，楼主到word文档的“工具”->“选项”->“用户信息”里，把“微软用户”这个词改成自己的名字缩写吧，放在批注里不太好看：）

  谢谢你的指导！我也想改呢，可惜之前不知道怎么改，现在知道了。  
  但是改名字以后好像批注的背景颜色也变了。有没有选择背景颜色的方法呢？

  在“工具”->“选项”->“修订”->“批注颜色”，不要选择“按作者”就行，其它颜色可以根据自己口味来调。
