And Suicide bombings kill at least 24 people in Pakistan.

Chinese President Hu Jintao attended the business summit at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Sydney on Thursday, and delivered a speech on the summit.

In his speech, Hu Jintao says China pays much attention to the quality and safety of export products. China is willing to expand cooperation in this field with parties concerned, to strengthen exchanges and communication, so as to enhance the level of product quality and safety in international trade.

"China takes a responsible attitude in every step of production, circulation, import and export, as well as in every aspect of legislation, implementation, supervision and management. China is making careful efforts to ensure product quality and safety."

It was the first time for the Chinese state leader to declare China's stance on product quality to the world.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says that China's economy is, on the whole, in good shape, but that unstable factors, imbalances and a lack of sustainability also affect the country's economic development.

The Chinese Premier made the statement on Thursday at the summer meeting of the World Economic Forum in Dalian City, northeast China.

Premier Wen Jiabao also believes the success of the Forum will be brought about by political and business leaders, experts and scholars from various countries participating with sincere wishes for equality and mutual respect.

"With a strong sense of responsibility and mission, they are committed to discussing major and potential issues in the world economy, paying greater attention to underdeveloped regions and people in poverty, and playing an active role in promoting development, progress and harmony in the world. This should be the spirit of the World Economic Forum. "
