China is to keep the National Day golden week holidays intact in the near future in spite of some recent discussions.

Wang Zhifa is Vice Director of "China National Tourism Administration".

"Whatever the debate and discussions are, the holiday arrangements adjusted last year will remain in place for some time."

China revised its holiday arrangements at the end of last year and shortened the May Day week-long holidays to three days. It also required employers to provide paid holidays for their employees.

Meanwhile, as this year's National Day holidays are just around the corner, tourists have flocked to book airline tickets for their favorite destinations. This situation has increased the price of tickets by half as this is a peak tourism time in China.

China's tourism market has seen overall slowdowns in the wake of snow storms at the beginning of the year and the massive earthquake in May.
