House speaker Nancy Pelosi says the ministration's proposed $700 billion financial bill out of plan lacks necessary safeguards to prevent abuses in the future.She wants better oversight supervision limits on the pay of Wall Street's exceutives and protections for home owners.GOP Senator Richard Shabby to ranking Republican on the Senate banking committee agrees without last point.This doesn't do anything for the home owner.This is doing something for the banks in forgiving relief if being incidenal. But Treasure Secretary Henry Paulson says the whole reasons for the plan is to help tax payers and home owners.When we're doing this to protect our financial institutions in themseleves, we're doing to protect financial institutions because that's what is needed to protect the American tax payer and unfortunately the American tax payer is right now in risk if there's a tough situation in the economy.Paulson was on Fox News Sunday.
Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama says he agrees with congressional leaders that independent oversee is needed for the bailout plan.He says much of the responsibility for the fianancial crisis lies with the policies of Bush Administration and Congressional Republican's including his opponent John McCain.Obama made the stage at a rally today in Charlotte, North Carolina.As Julie Rovner, mememberstation WFAE reports.
The Obama campaign had a busy week in Charlotte, starting with visits from vice presidential Joe Biden and Michelle Obama and commenting in an outdoor rally with Barack Obama and an audience of thousands .The visits are further evidence that Obama is treating North Carolina as a battleground eventhough the State hasn't elected a democrat for President more than 30 years.Obama //his speech with reference to North Carolina's economy and job losses.I will stop giving tax breaks to corporations that shift down overseas.I am not giving tax breaks to come over decay the job that in North Carolina.Republican Senator John McCain maintains a lead over Obama in the latest polls of North Carlina.But margins very widely between 1 point and 20,neither McCain nor running mate Sarah Palin has visited North Carolina during the January election campaign.For NPR News, I'm Julie Rovner, in Charlotte.
Two US defense department employees are among the vicitms of the suicide truck bomb attack devastated a hotelin Islamabad yesterday,at least 53 people were killed.NPR's Philip Reeves says a security camera inside the hotel caught images of the explosive latent vehicle as it approaches the building.A gamp truck run into the security barriers outside the hotel the guards there initially run away and then they return .There was a small explosion then the struck put fire.And for a while those in a camp by several guards to try to put out the flames inside the truck and then the truck finally get ignited.This is NPR.

The crew of space shuttle Atlantis has arrived into Kennedy Space Center today for final training before their October launch. The astronauts will perform NASA's final repair mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.Pat Duggins,a memberstation WFME has more.
The training session at Kennedy Space Center is called the terminal calm-down demonstration test is the last chance for commander Scott Altman and all 6 crew mates to break inside the shuttle on launch pan before blast off at Oct.10.The astronauts were installing new parts on Hubble but also tried to repair two instruments on the telescope that stops working.Altman says his crew was ready to go.I definitely feel the crew has come together.Everybody knows his job and marrid excused and look forward having done the cape launching and get the work on the scope.NASA's still assessing the impact of Hurricane Ike on mission control on Houston that plus assemble line and prepair Atlantis could delay launch day by 1 day or two.For NPR News, I'm Pat Duggins in Antlant.
