Born in Nigeria when it was still a French colony, he joined the Christian Dior fashion house in Paris in 1954 after winning a fashion dress design competition. Within 3 years, Christian Dior had died and Yves Saint Laurent was appointed chief designer at the age of 21. He sets off the highly successful Yves Saint Laurent fashion house and dresses some of the world’s most famous women.
Voters in Porto Rico have chosen Hilary Clinton to be the Democratic Party candidate for the US presidency. The spokesman of Mr.Obama said he hopes to clinch the nomination on Tuesday. Kim Ghettos has more. It’s a symbolic victory for Hilary Clinton. She has always expected to take Porto Rico, but even a wide margin of her victory there were not done the overall lead…….with Obama. And Porto Rico doesn’t vote for the president elections. So it’s not a state that will make a difference in November. But Senator Clinton has shown no sign of giving up the fight yet. She insists that her lead in the popular vote gives her a mandate to continue the raise for the Democratic Party nomination. The Obama campaign said they hope …Senator will clinch the nomination this week, but the last due primaries has been held on Tuesday in South Dakota and Montana.
The president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe has arrived in Rome for World Food Summit. It’s president Robert Mugabe's first visit to Europe since the opposition movement for the democratic change won a majority in parliament elections in March. Christian Fraser reports from Rome.
