China's southwestern province of Sichuan has received its first flock of tourists since the May 12 earthquake.

On Saturday, more than 10,000 travelers visited Leshan, Meishan and E'mei Mountains.

Local authorities say scenic spots along the route have not suffered serious damages in the devastating tremor.

Ma Yuanzhu is an official with tourism managing committee of the E'mei mountain.

"From May 25th to July 4th, we carry out the first phase of favorable policies. Tourists enjoy 50 percent discount on ticket price and other services, such as food and lodging."

The official adds that in the next phase of the restoration of the local tourist industry, the provincial government plans to resume the tourist business in the eastern and southern part of the province.

Wu Mian, vice director of the province's tourist bureau, says his authority will also properly arrange travel routes according to the demand of tourists.
