Some former Chinese women swimming champions have jointly composed a song to celebrate the upcoming Olympics in Beijing this August.

Le Jingyi won the gold medal for women's 100-meter freestyle in the 1996 Summer Olympics.

"The enthusiasm for the Olympic Games will last forever."

Qian Hong is also a composer and performer of the song. She won the gold medal for women's 100-meter butterfly in the 1992 Summer Games.

"The name of the song is the Melody of Athletes. And I hope all participants of the Olympics will sing this song, which represents a common wish of the five continents."

In addition, Qian Hong says she will join 16 other guests for the Beijing Olympics as one of the sports commentators, and in particular, she will be in charge of the swimming events.
