每日英语写作 [2008/09/08] --- 的哥 part01

2）除了中文短文，英语原文已设置为回复可见，大家回贴后就可以看了。

每日写作活动主要是让大家有更多的机会进行英语写作，所谓学以致用。不要光听光读，而是使用自己学习到的英语，写出自己的故事。
在这里提供的中文短文选自每日听力，参加过听力活动的网友可以在这个版块巩固复习前一天听力的内容；而未参加过听力活动，只是喜欢写作的网友可以在这里尽情的发挥，然后可以比对原文，总结自己的不足之处，和大家一起讨论，如果愿意还可以下个mp3听听。
大家可以根据中文短文的内容，进行中译英；也可以写读后感；可以根据短文的开头部分，自己写一下，猜想这个故事的内容或者结局，或者是你希望的故事结局。反正内容不限，大家尽情发挥。
另外，这次活动之所以马上付诸行动，主要是得到了evajane(小燕子)的热心帮助。我在无意中发现她会在每次的听力活动以后进行原文翻译，所以才恍然大悟，这么好的写作素材就在眼前啊。在此，再次感谢她的支持！

中文：
我是一名出租车司机——的哥，一般都夜间工作。我从事这份职业已经有20年了，我喜欢这个工作。
每晚6点我准时进入出租车，开车载客直至黎明，在夜间我会稍作休息。我喜欢停在海港旁，喝着咖啡或吸着烟欣赏海面上倒影出的城市夜景。如果我出城到了郊区，我会停下车来仰望漫天繁星。在城里，人们并不总能清楚地看到天上的星，可是在城郊晴朗的冬夜里，你会毫不费力地辨认出南十字座。
我还喜欢研究身边的人们。的哥通常都比较能说，但我们更需要成为一个好的听众。做这份工作,你会碰到各种各样的人。我就接待了来自世界各地各行各业的游客，演员、医生、家庭主妇、学生、水手、歌星、轮班工人等等。

You can’t always see the stars clearly in the city but on the edge of town, on a clear winter night, you can spot the Southern Cross easily.
长句子的翻译也是一个问题，关联词的运用有待加强阿。
怎么学习长句翻译呢？不知道可有答案。

Every night, at 6 o'clock, i get into my car and drive till the dawn. I will take a break during the night. I will stop by the harbor and drink my coffe or watch the stars over the water.If i am in the suburban, i will stop to watch the stars in the nightsky.In the city, people can not see stars clearly,but in the winter night of the suburban,u can spot the Southern Cross easily.
I like to study peoples in surrounding.Cabbies are good at talking,however, we need to be good listener too.In this job, u may meet sorts of people. I have met tourists from all round of the world,such as actors, doctors,housewies,students,sailors,singers,and shiftworkers.
