Hundreds of people lined up outside banks in Beijing on Wednesday morning to get the new 10-yuan note commemorating the 2008 Olympics.
The notes were sold out at 300 bank branches across the Chinese capital within 20 minutes. Most people began queuing on Tuesday evening itself.
One side of the ten-yuan bank note features the National Stadium or the Bird's Nest and the emblem of Beijing Games, while the other side shows Discobulus, a famous ancient Greek marble statute of a discus thrower.
