关于作者Greene Graham：
生于一九○四年。牛津大学贝利奥尔学院毕业之后，在《泰晤士报》做过四年副编辑。他的第四本小说《史坦堡特快车》使他声誉大起。
除了写出很多本长篇小说外，葛林也写了好几本短篇小说集、四本游记、六出舞台剧、三本自传──《小说家的人生》、 《逃避途径》、《我自己的世界》（出版于他逝世之后）──两本传记以及四本童书。他也为报章杂志写过几百篇杂文、影评、书评，有些收录在《沉思录》和《黑暗中的早晨》文集里。他写的长篇和短篇小说很多都拍成了电影，其中《黑狱亡魂》还写成电影脚本。葛雷安‧葛林曾获功绩勋章以及荣誉侍从荣衔。一九九一年四月去世。
