Iraqi security officials say a suicide truck bomb in downtown Baghdad killed at least 115 people and wounded nearly 200 others who were out shopping and celebrating earlier Sunday ahead of the holiday marking the end of Ramadan. A large number of families and children were reported to be victims of the blast.
Tributes were paid on Sunday to the victims of a bloody hostage crisis that left 28 people dead in the diplomatic zone of the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka. A makeshift memorial was set up at a police road block near the Holey Artisan Bakery where the heavily armed attackers struck.
13 suspects in connection with the attack at Istanbul's airport that killed at least 44 people arrived in court. Three militants armed with assault rifles and suicide bombs stormed Istanbul's Ataturk Airport on Tuesday night.
And thousands of Peruvians took to the streets of Lima to take part in the city's gay pride parade. Rainbow flags and balloons filled the city center to mark the event's 15th anniversary.
