The 82,000 Californians, told to evacuate because of the massive wildfire east of Los Angeles, can now return home. The fire, which scorched close to 60 square miles, is at least 85% contained.
At least three fast moving wildfires are doing damaging in eastern Washington state. Some homes and other structures have been destroyed. Hundreds of people were told to evacuate.
Police just south of Cleveland say a 74 year-old woman stepped on the gas instead of the brake and drove onto a crowded dance floor during an outdoor concert. The woman and eight other people were hurt.
And a man was paragliding south of Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday when he hit the roof of a church and plunged through. The man died. Witnesses said the paraglider was spiralling-----and appeared to be out of control before the crash.
